Today she is turning 5, my beautiful baby girl! I wish you all the beautiful things in the world!

Barcelona's Best Kept Secret

I went for the weekend to see my dearest friend in Barcelona. I needed a break, so I took it, thanks to Bogdan and my mother-in-law, they both encouraged me to "Go, girl! Have some fun!".

Long walks, some "Rebajas" (sales) shopping, saying hello to the sea and then good bye...

Because I'm a well known gourmet, she took me to La Bombeta, in Barceloneta. Is a small tapas restaurant, on a side street, specialised in sea food. If you like pretentious locations, forget about this address. If you like good food, well... you can wait at the door. 

We had to wait about 20 minutes to get inside, the place was incredibly crowded, but the service was fast and the food absolutely divine.

They proudely don't speak english, but they make the best bombas (balls) with plenty of balls (should I say guts?). This is writen with white paint on that wall in catalan language. 

My friend gave me a gorgeous treat with some bombetas (potatoes balls with garlic sauce, incredibly tasty)...

... tomato bread...

... snails with a delicios thyme and garlic sauce, served with aioli (some other garlic and mayonese sauce)...

... fried eggplants...

... we shared a local made "crema catalana" bowl (a specific dessert) and we didn't forget to share a bottle of sangria (red wine with sugar and fruits)...

... and also the hand written bill.

The address is Placa de la Maquinista, 3. Easy to reach there, but you need patience to get inside. Don't forget to put youself on the waiter's list, otherwise it's impossible to get a table.
